EXAMPLE:
EZRA MILLER:
In general I tend to be rather critical, sour and even nihilistic (or at least I have thought so at times). So to select a particular Current Issue has been rather hard, since thinking out of the box doesn't ever come as easy as pie.
From all the many current situations that are of my interest at the moment, I decided to pick up on one that is not entirely depressing and which may not straightforwardly provoke indignation so I decided to comment on this news I heard about a Hollywood spotlight male Celebrity who has recently performed a photo-shoot for Playboy.
To be honest I hadn't heard of such actor until today, and I had even overlooked the work claiming that frivolous pieces were the only thing that could come out of a playboy photo-shoot. However, due to this post, I started going deeper on the matter and I found out that the actor leads one of the new Harry Potter Film Series Motion picture's, and it blew my mind!. I found out how pop he was and therefore I have just started visuluazing the scope of such actions.
Beyond the aesthetical view I uphold from the pictures, or even beyond my opinion regarding the overall discourse portrayed in these actions, I believe the importance of this performatic event relies on that the pictures contest the image of someone widely related to a western-pop-culture, conservative-like, super star-character and makes the followers reflect over and wonder about the construction of male-gender, and from a point of view, these pictures, furthermore, install in the widespread global-pop-western culture, gender-construction-reflections that are (to me), necessary to sustain and to stimulate in order to deepen in our current society and be able to produce, trigger or behold transformation within our life time.
I believe these actions, when performed by characters which embody the most conservative values of western society and are openly displayed for everybody to see/have an opinion about, disregarding how against traditional values this may be, it is for me a liberating artistic act, because it stimulates future visions and opens up new dimensions for the new generations to explore. At least these actions could not be seen openly when I was 20 something!.
All in all, Ezra Miller's Drag-Queen Performatic Playboy Photo-shoot has resulted to be an act widely commented on the social media I participate of and because of him being such a celebrity, the visibilization of the queer discourse and the questioning of the construction of masculinities, I believe this piece of news is something worthy of mention and exhibition. ReplyDeleteEzra Miller is a very good actor that, in my view, he have characters very interesting in three movies "We Need to Talk About Kevin", "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" and "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them". I thinking that Ezra always try applicated the discourse about the gender identity and reformulate the image of the contemporary man, in his characters and his real life, is very cool because standardises this actions for the future generations :)
ReplyDeleteI saw the pictures last week and it's a very good job, he's very talented
ReplyDeleteHe is a great role model to LGBT+ people!
ReplyDeleteI love how Ezra is breaking the stereotypes. He's making more space to put the topic in discussion. Amazing
ReplyDeleteWhat a great act! I think fampuse people should always contribute to spread this kind of messages to help tolerance in society
ReplyDeleteIt´s very interesting. I like it
ReplyDeleteI think what he did was great. I recommend you "We need to talk about Kevin" so you get to know Ezra a bit more
ReplyDeleteIm not an Ezra's fan, but I really love Harry Potter!
ReplyDeleteEzra Miller is one of the most interesting actors now, because he can make a lots of papers, and actually he is an Obscural in the Harry Potter Spin-off, "Fantastic Beast and Where to find them" saga, and Flash in the DC Universe. Fun papers, but he even participated on a drama rolls just like a student in the "Standford Prison Experiment", he is complete and i feel glad to live in a time with god actors just like him.
ReplyDeleteThe truth is I have no idea of the new saga of Harry Potter and less of this actor, but what he did was valuable.
ReplyDeleteI like the this typ of performance artistic, a typ of art more modern. I like because it tries to deroy the prejudices of clothings related to gender.
